Dragon Age II DirectX 11

You’ll be in for a treat with Dragon Age II if you’re running DirectX 11 hardware, Bioware were good enough to take us through a complete run down of the enhanced Dragon Age 2 effects that make full use of the latest DirectX 11 hardware. There’s also a high-resolution texture pack already available, which you can grab it from here. Details of all the features are after the jump.

We’re a little scared… While we regularly like to disembowel, disassemble, disfigure and generally ‘dis’ USB devices in all of their forms, it’s always either standing on the shoulders of the geniuses that made the device in the first place, or at least leaning on the fact that the USB interface offers a handy 5v supply.

New Catalyst driver figures out

AMD GFX driver

AMD’s project Mjolnir (the name of Thor’s hammer in case aren’t up on Norse mythology or Marvel comics) is an effort to improve the stability and performance AMD’s Catalyst software, along with a fair change in look and feel and new branding. Phase I is complete, apparently, and the results are out. The driver boasts major improvements for the entire AMD Radeon HD 6800 and 6900 Series, particularly with anti-aliasing and large resolutions.
