PCFormat Team Fortress 2 Game Night 1

Or as we’re calling it “Look ma, I shot his bleedin' head off”.

Join us, why don’t you, for a soiree of shotguns, bonesaws, rocket launchers, washed down with a light, but fruity bottle of Jarate. You may even win a prize in a few of our oh-so zany madcap games, such as:
“Headshot Henry™”
A very complex game that awards a prize to the player who ‘headshots’ our staff writer “Henry” Winchester the most times in an allotted period. See what we did there?

“Ambassador, you are really spoiling us”
Another in-depth game. This time PCF’s Chris Thornett (or 'Ari', if you’re a forumite) must avoid being perforated by a spy’s Ambassador weapon in an allotted period.

The most kills in both games bags a prize. Keep an eye out for the admin announcements on the night.

PCFormat TF2 Server #01 details:

Couldn't hit a house, even with a shottie? You can also win prizes for the best screenies too. Post them in the game night's event thread here after the event or email them to chris.thornett at futurenet dot com.

If you want to be certain of a slot for the first game night, register at our forums and sign-up in this thread:

You don’t have to register for each event to join in, but if numbers are high we’ll password an event and PM registered players the details.

Future regular events and tourneys will be announced through the usual interweb apparatus:

http://www.pcformat.co.uk/rss_feed

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/PCFormat/

and the PCFormat online events and tourneys forum thread.

  • Look at that thing on the cover! What is it? A nuclear power station? A Combine base from Half-Life 2? A rejected robot from Transforminators? No, it's a PC! A hulking great compartmentalised beast of a PC. In ten years, all PCs will look like this. Even your Mum's. Adam Oxford's produced a complete guide to future tech, so you'll know exactly what to spend your cash on to build the PC of the future.

Of course, the most important part of your PC is the CPU. There are a fair few bargains out there from AMD and Intel. Jeremy Laird has given them a run for their money, and written masses on each and every one. An essential guide for now, and the future. Jeremy also tried Intel's mobile Core i7 and Core i5 chips, which feature integrated GPUs and will be heading to a laptop near you soon.
