Yesterday Asus launched a few new laptops at the Lamborghini showrooms in Kensington. A great setting, although the laptops were slightly overshadowed by the four-wheeled beasts on display.
Headlining was Asus' 16" Lamborghini VX5, which packs a Core 2 Quad processor, 4GB of RAM and a 1920 x 1080 screen. It's packed in a lovely, Lamborghini-styled case, replete with a gearbox-style on-off switch, leather wrist rests and a throbbing engine noise when you power it up. No, really.

Elsewhere, I had a bit of hands-on time with Asus' Eee T91, which is basically one of their tiny Eee netbooks with a niftily-rotatable touchscreen. The T91 is running proprietary touchscreen software on top of a Windows XP installation, and whilst it seemed a tad flakey, it's sure to be a hit with people who prefer to use their handwriting over pressing keys. Maybe people with styluses for fingers. Edward StylusFingers.

Next up was the UX30. This 13.3" laptop includes 4GB of RAM and an Intel CULV processor (more on those next issue) rammed into a sleek and light chassis.
We'll be taking a look at all Asus' creations in coming issues, and it seems the Taiwanese laptop manufacturer are taking a bite out of Apple's share of the stylish notebook market.
