Community writer’s information page
What is the community section?
We made this community space for PC Format followers and readers to write about their passions (Well, the legal and PC-related ones).
Much like PC Format magazine itself, many of our readers are venerable – or old before their time due to sunlight deprivation – and actually remember what floppy disks were for.
All told they are a conglomeration of astounding PC knowledge and we wanted to give them a way to share that knowledge for the good of humanity. (Or to be worshipped as PC gods).
If you think you have a ‘gift’ to share with the world, you too could join their ranks.
How do I become a PCF community writer?
All prospective community writers must send an email to pcformat.events@futurenet.com to introduce themselves and discuss what they want to write about. We are going to be very selective about what gets posted, so bring your ‘A’ game. Once we know you’re legit and not a spammer/scammer you’ll need to do the following:
1. Create an account by clicking ‘Join here’ on the right-hand column.
2. Pick your username.
3. Supply an email address.
4. Pick ‘community writer’ from the ‘apply for role’ dropdown list and wait for us to approve your request.
5. A confirmation email will be sent to your address, which will include a link you must click to complete your account creation. Job done.
Already we’ve seen community writers go on to write for the magazine. Yes, paid work. Shocking stuff! Of course, that doesn’t always happen, but if you want to write to share your knowledge with the PC community then that will have a reward of its own and will be appreciated by everyone. Good luck!
